Robert R. Cook

Of Counsel

Known to friends and colleagues as Bob, Mr. Cook was born in 1933 in Drumright, Oklahoma.  A Sooner by birth, he went to college in Alford, New York, before he was recruited by the University of Georgia to study Agricultural Economics.  In 1965 he graduated from law school at the University of Georgia.

Bob started practicing in Savannah, Georgia, in 1965 as a founding partner of Smith & Cook.  Also known locally as “Judge Cook,” he has served as a Judge in the City of Tybee, Georgia, and was elected to three terms as the Probate Court Judge in Chatham County from 1973-1985.  He has provided representation to his clients over the years in almost every area of law – from traffic violations to murder.

Bob was married to his wife Jane for 43 years before she passed away in April of 2019.  A true family man, he is the father of 8 children and has countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Today he lives in Midway, Georgia, and loves to host oyster roasts, lowcountry boils, and parties for his friends, family, and colleagues at his home on Isle of Wight.
